Thursday Update - Ivy is gone!

Geoff pulled out the old toilet. He had to use some snippers to clip off one of the bolts because it was so rusted.

On Wednesday Geoff put the finishing touches on the guest bathroom including some blinds and a new curtain rod!

On Thursday dad came over and removed the ivy. Unfortunately there was a bird egg in the ivy that fell out when it came down. Steph says she knew it was there the whole time, but didn't tell Geoff about it!

Color in the daylight, a couch and a new toilet!

At the bottom of this post is a video, it's our first attempt at posting a video, so hopefully it works!

On Thursday Steph painted the wall trim while Bob and Geoff moved some furniture into the house, which is starting to take on the form of an actual home!

The second bedroom and kitchen nook were painted blue and an almost finished hallway.

On Friday afternoon Geoff decided to clean, or at least act like he was going to clean.

... and Steph finished painting the inside of the front door.

After Geoff acted like he was going to clean he reckoned it may be best to install one of the two new toilets, since neither one of us would dare sit on either of the existing toilets. Geoff thought this would be pretty simple, and it really was, but he had some trouble disconnecting the water supply line from the tank (at least in the way that the instructions told him to remove it). After messing with the lines on both guest and master toilets Garrett showed up and had the supply line to the guest toilet removed in about 30 seconds (he says he never follows those darn instructions).

After he saved Geoff from going crazy, he reminded Geoff that he was going to have to remove the nasty wax seal.
Done!

Don't worry, we got the paint all done behind the new toilet, for the most part. And finally... success!

Gettin 'er done!

On Wednesday we took away nastiness and added color!
Geoff priming the breakfast nook ... goodbye Kentucky blue!

and hello ... err .. primer!

After Geoff finished priming Sara got to adding some color in the living room and office ...

and then Geoff put a hole in the wall when he was removing the old towel rack ... and we called it a night.

Closing day

On Tuesday the 21st of April at 8 frickin AM we closed, after fighting rush hour traffic at every turn. After closing we grabbed some McDonalds and had planned to go straight to the house to begin working but Geoff needed a "20 minute" (2 hour) nap before we got started. Finally, around noon, we got to the house.

Geoff continued sanding the fireplace.
And Steph went to work on that pesky ivy (she needed a tan).

After we had each had enough of our individual jobs we decided to tackle paint in the master bedroom. First Steph finished patching the holes in the hallway.

And then we got to work on priming the red master bedroom!

After a while we got on a roll and continued on to the hallway ...

After dinner we recruited Sara to help paint.
Seeing a little color (that's not red, pink or blue). While the girls added some color Geoff patched holes in the "hot pink tent room".

After patching Geoff got to priming (2 coats!) while Steph and Sara moved down the hallway towards the living room. Before the night was over Sara tested out the door and trim color on the front door.
